Walk Across America

August 12, 2010

Al Slusser came upon our doorstep earlier this week on a  mission of a Coast 2 Coast Walk.
Read why in his own words:
1.
At age 71, to fulfill my personal dream to walk from sea to shining sea and to encourage others to fulfill theirs.
2. To encourage all American Citizens to unite in a spirit of solidarity, loyalty and prayer support for America.

Al slept in a tent and was full of stories of his great adventure.

Pick Up America

June 7, 2010

Rosie, The Pickup America BusSome days are created to make you smile.
Some people are created to make you smile too!

Today we met a sparkling group of talented and motivated young adults who have made a year-and-a-half commitment to travel across America and pick up tons and tons of trash. The “Pick Up Artists” travel in a hand painted bus affectionately named Rosie, (you can’t miss it!).
Why are they doing this? Here is what they had to say:
“We coordinate community trash clean-ups while walking across the country to encourage alternatives to our nation’s throwaway mentality.”

Visit their website at www.pickupamerica.org and please make a donation to help.
